Wizards Keep 2026 First Round Pick

The Wizards' loss to the Bulls dropped them to 17-62 and locked them into a bottom-three finish. Washington will keep its top-eight protected 2026 first-round pick instead of sending it to the Knicks, Josh Robbins reported. New York will get Washington's second-round picks in 2026 and 2027. The Knicks now have just one first-round pick over the next two years, their own in 2026. That protected Wizards pick had traveled from Houston to Oklahoma City, then to New York in the 2022 draft trade for the No. 11 pick. The Knicks have been here before, too, when Dallas kept its protected pick in 2023.
