Warriors Want Steve Kerr Extension
The Warriors want to extend Steve Kerr beyond one season, according to Jake Fischer. Kerr is nearing the end of his current deal, and Golden State would rather avoid a one-year “Last Dance” setup for 2026-27. Fischer also said the team is hoping Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody can recover quickly from their season-ending injuries. Golden State is 37-42 and headed for the play-in tournament, where it needs two wins to reach the playoffs. The Warriors haven’t found much postseason success since winning the 2022 title, so another early exit could shape talks around Kerr’s future. For now, the team sounds committed to keeping him.
