Nikola Jokic Says Post Play Is Fading
Nikola Jokić told Bennett Durando of The Denver Post that size doesn’t feel like an advantage in today’s NBA. He says officials allow more pushing and grabbing in the post, which wears big men down and pushes players away from low-post offense. Jokić thinks it could mostly disappear within five to 10 years. Jokić has still dominated inside, averaging 26.9 points, 12.4 rebounds and 9.3 assists from 2021 to 2026. But Denver is 4-3 and ninth in the West, while Jokić is at 23.4 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists through seven games. The Nuggets have made eight straight playoffs, so this early skid won’t panic them.
🧙♂️ Merlin’s Prediction
Denver wins at least five of its next seven games and climbs out of ninth place in the West.
