NBA Reviewing LaMelo Ball Bam Adebayo Incident
The NBA is reviewing LaMelo Ball’s play involving Bam Adebayo in Tuesday’s Hornets-Heat play-in game, according to Chris Haynes. A ruling is expected before Charlotte plays Friday. Ball appeared to grab Adebayo’s ankles after falling on a drive, and Bam hit his lower back hard enough that he couldn’t return. Charlotte won 127-126 in overtime, ending Miami’s season. Erik Spoelstra called it “dangerous” and said Ball should’ve been ejected. Ball apologized afterward, saying he got hit in the head and “didn’t even know where I was.” LaMelo had 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, including the go-ahead layup with four seconds left in OT. The Hornets will face the Magic-76ers loser Friday for the East’s No. 8 seed and a first-round matchup with Detroit.
