LeBron Skips Golf as Lakers Injuries Mount
LeBron James canceled a golf outing with J.R. Smith after Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves got hurt. Smith said Thursday, “Man, I can’t play golf. I’ve got too much on my shoulders right now.” Dončić has a hamstring injury, while Reaves has a Grade 2 left oblique injury. ESPN’s Shams Charania says both Luka and Reaves are expected to miss the start of the 2026 playoffs. The Lakers are 50-29 and tied with Houston for the No. 4 spot, just 1.5 games behind Denver for No. 3. LeBron is averaging 20.8 points, 7.1 assists, and 6.1 rebounds in his 23rd season, but Los Angeles needs help fast.
🧙♂️ Merlin’s Prediction
LeBron carries the Lakers through the first playoff games, but they’ll need Luka or Reaves back to make a real run.
