Knicks Might Move Guerschon Yabusele Before Trade Deadline
The Knicks might shop veteran center Guerschon Yabusele before the Feb 5 trade deadline. The French big was one of New York's only free agent additions last summer and has underperformed, slipping to 3 points in 9.6 minutes and 39.4 percent shooting. As The Athletic's James L. Edwards III reported, "Multiple league executives believe the Knicks would have to attach something to Yabusele" and the team "can't afford to get nothing out of that salary slot." Merlin senses trade winds and a roster math problem. With payroll near $210.1 million and only $148,358 from the second apron, New York cannot waste that contract slot. Yabusele signed a two year, $11.3 million deal and his Olympic and 76ers form helps his market, but he is most likely trade filler unless the Knicks add a sweetener for a rotation player.
