Jaylen Brown Says Tyrese Maxey Leads Sixers

Jaylen Brown says Tyrese Maxey is driving Philadelphia’s 7-1 start, not LeBron James or Joel Embiid. Maxey dropped 26 points, including 15 in the fourth, in a 126-107 win over Chicago. He’s averaging 29.1 points, while Embiid and James are both below their career scoring averages. Brown said, “Maxey's been leading the way, 100 percent. He's been here. This is his team.” Embiid admitted the new offense has been an adjustment, especially when he goes several possessions without the ball. He’s leaning into being a hub for teammates, and Philadelphia still needs a long-term backup behind him.
