Ja Morant Hurt as Grizzlies Beat Blazers

Ja Morant’s first game against Memphis since the summer trade ended in a 124-103 Blazers loss. The Grizzlies moved to 5-0, handing Portland its first loss, and Morant left in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury. He called it “just another basketball game on the schedule” and said, “Nothing harsh from me for Memphis.” Deni Avdija kept rolling through a strong start for Portland, while No. 4 pick Cam Boozer posted his first triple-double for Memphis. The young Grizzlies don’t look like a team planning to rebuild after this start. Portland gets another shot in February, when Morant returns to Memphis.
