Giannis Trade Belief Growing Around NBA
Marc Stein reports there’s a strong leaguewide belief the Bucks will trade Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason. That feeling grew after Giannis and Milwaukee publicly disagreed over his knee injury and return plan. Giannis said Friday the team holding him out was “like a slap in my face,” while the NBA is investigating the Bucks’ injury reports. Giannis averaged 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 36 games, and he’s said he wants to play for a contender. The Heat, Timberwolves, Knicks and Warriors were among teams interested before the February deadline, per Shams Charania. A deal won’t be easy with his $58.5 million cap hit, but this relationship looks tougher to fix by the day.
🧙♂️ Merlin’s Prediction
Giannis trade talks get very real once the offseason starts.
