Doc Rivers Steps Down as Bucks Coach

Doc Rivers has stepped down as Milwaukee Bucks head coach after the team missed the 2025-26 playoffs for the first time in 10 years. Rivers said he was "deeply grateful" for the experience. ESPN's Shams Charania reported he won't return, though the Bucks are discussing an advisory role. Rivers went 97-103 in Milwaukee with no playoff series wins. Milwaukee now needs its fifth coach since the 2022-23 season, counting Joe Prunty's interim run. Giannis Antetokounmpo's future is still a major question, while Damian Lillard is coming off a torn Achilles. The Bucks also don't control their own first-round pick until 2031.
