Dillon Brooks Could Not Rattle Kawhi

Dillon Brooks wrote in The Players' Tribune that he’s been trash-talking since the start. He said he kept “little dossiers” on opponents while with the Grizzlies, learning what got under their skin. Kawhi Leonard was different. Brooks said nothing worked, even after trying to pinch him once. Kawhi’s calm response was basically, “Play basketball, bro.” Brooks is now averaging 20.4 points for the 43-35 Suns, who are likely headed for the top Play-In Tournament seed. Phoenix has beaten outside expectations, and Brooks’ edge is a big part of it.
