Cooper Flagg Drops 45, Tops Lakers

LeBron James and Cooper Flagg put on a wild Sunday night show as the Mavericks beat the Lakers 134-128. Flagg scored 45 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. LeBron had 30 points, 15 assists and nine rebounds. They became the first teenager and player over 40 to each score 20 points in the same NBA game, with Flagg posting 26 and James adding 22 before halftime. Flagg now has three rookie games with at least 35 points, five rebounds and five assists, second only to James’ four as a teenager. He also became the first rookie since Allen Iverson with back-to-back 40-point games. The Lakers are trying to hold off Denver for the No. 3 seed without Luka Dončić, while Dallas looks toward Kyrie Irving’s return and a possible top-five pick.
