Clippers Trade Talks: Ivica Zubac, Celtics Pacers
Per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Ivica Zubac has drawn trade interest from teams including the Celtics and Pacers. The chatter peaked when the Clippers began 6-21 but quieted after L.A. won seven of eight. Scotto said "it would have taken at least two first-round picks" to pry him away. Zubac is averaging about 15 points, 11 rebounds and a block, coming off All-Defensive Second Team honors and a Most Improved Player nod, so he is a coveted, impact big man. Boston needs a true center and Indiana lost Myles Turner, making Zubac a tidy fit for both clubs. Merlin senses the Clippers view Zubac as part of their spine, hence the high asking price, and their recent surge cooled the market. If L.A. stumbles again the whispers will flare back into offers. Celtics might trade draft capital for immediate defense; Pacers would bet on fit and toughness. Expect slow burn until the deadline, then sudden heat.
