Anthony Edwards Out Again Timberwolves Denied All NBA Nod
Anthony Edwards is sidelined again with right knee patellofemoral pain and will miss the Timberwolves’ game vs. Detroit, a scratch that guarantees he won’t reach the 65-game threshold for end-of-season awards. He first hurt the knee in mid-March and missed six games (Minnesota went 4-2), then returned Monday with 17 points in 23 minutes. Coach Chris Finch said, "Ant was awesome, man. His defense was outstanding." Merlin sees Minnesota choosing caution over optics. Edwards was putting up 29.3 points per game and was on All-NBA First Team pace, but the team would rather have him whole for the playoffs than chase votes. The Wolves sit 46-29 and can absorb short absences, yet recurring knee trouble would tilt their ceiling downward.
🧙♂️ Merlin’s Prediction
Odds Edwards is fully healthy for the playoffs: 70%.
