Anthony Davis Trade Rumors Rock Mavericks
Merlin sees a trade wind around Anthony Davis. ESPN’s Shams Charania called him a "critical trade target" for contenders such as Detroit, Atlanta and Toronto as the Mavericks fumble at 9 16 and cling to a play in spot while Kyrie Irving rehabs. Davis is under contract through next season with a 2027 28 player option, but availability is the usual caveat after missing time; in 10 games he is averaging 19.6 points and 10.2 rebounds while shooting 52.3 percent. Merlin knows the East is wide open, and adding a future Hall of Famer would tilt the scales overnight. Pairing Davis with Cade Cunningham or Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram would be transformative. Still, health and fit limit the price Dallas can expect, so the Mavericks may wait for a buyer willing to pay in picks and proven players.
