Lakes Overcome 2-10 Start, Advance to Western Conference Finals Behind LeBron James & Anthony Davis
The Los Angeles Lakers have done the impossible: the No. 7-seeded team has overcome an 8 games under 500 start to reach the Western Conference Finals. In a dominating 122-101 win against the defending champion Golden State Warriors, the Lakers look to their leader LeBron James to continue their success. James shined with 30 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists, and with the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in attendance, James "made a few [winning] plays." Austin Reaves also contributed 23 points and 5 rebounds, showing the Lakers' depth of talent.
The Lakers head to Denver for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday, and James says the team's expectations are "way higher" than just showing up for the Conference Finals. "We're trying to win every hand," James stated. With an experienced playoff veteran in James and staunch defense, the Lakers have their eyes on the ultimate prize.
