Suns Embarrassed Again at Home: Eliminated in Humiliating Fashion for Second Straight Year

The Phoenix Suns' season came to an abrupt end on Thursday night, with a 125-100 elimination loss to the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals. Kevin Durant, whose arrival in a midseason trade made the Suns the betting favorite to win the West, said it "sucked" and was "embarrassing." Suns star Devin Booker, who scored just 12 points on 4-of-13 shooting, left the arena without speaking to the media.

"It's two different groups," said Suns coach Monty Williams, comparing last year's squad to this year's. "Last year's team was more of a ball-movement and body-movement team, this year we're more pick-and-roll oriented and iso oriented, so it's two different situations altogether." Durant lamented the season-ending loss but said it won't stop the team from getting better: "We just got to be better next year. It's hard right now to see what the future will hold for our team, but we got a good foundation, good infrastructure. We can build on and move on from this and learn from it and get better from it."
